DTC Procedures!
As our growing number of technicians using CYTK’s Smart Search would tell you, Diagnostic Troubleshooting Codes are a mainstay of the modern automotive tech’s toolkit for repairing vehicles. We listened to your feedback and have included DTC Procedures in our latest release of the apps: version 1.3.0.
DTCs are regularly used to diagnose malfunctions or issues in a vehicle, and while an indicator or check engine light serves to alert a driver that there is an issue, a DTC identifies the specifics of the problem. Now, Smart Search can return the procedures and any supporting tests that the OEM’s publish for repairing the fault.
No Search Results View
This release includes a much more intuitive way to expose the depths of automotive repair information that CYTK’s Smart Search has available to you. If CYTK doesn’t find a clear match to your keyword search, it will now provide alternative categories that match, as well as a collection of YouTube videos that might be helpful.
We have reimagined what providing related content looks like so you can find the OEM content that you need to repair the car in front of you quickly.
Vehicle Landing Page
The Full Search View now appears every time a vehicle is loaded into context, rather than just the first time you drop a vehicle into view. This “landing page” is a first step towards a Smart Search Dashboard, where you will – in future releases – find a home base for each vehicle you add to your view.

Features & Improvements
Keyword Search Evolution
This release includes much better indexing by leveraging the power of ElasticSearch much more comprehensively. Not only is CYTK more aware of the full breadth of categorization from our data sources, we’ve tuned the fuzzy and partial matching features to balance the art of bringing relevant, related automotive repair content without too much noise.
This is definitely the next step in the evolution of CYTK’s search capabilities, and we’re proud to add more to our synonym processing as well. As more and more users are attracted to CYTK, the more CYTK learns what is relevant and interesting.
Multi-threading
One of our key platform improvements has been checked off with this release: Parallelization! CYTK is now able to search through our data sources asynchronously, and without adding to the load time when returning content.
Coming Soon!
We have some exciting things on our Roadmap for the next 6 – 8 months, including a Vehicle Dashboard, a generalized Search bar without categories, additional Quick View Summaries (such as Fuse information and TuneUp), and major improvements to the NLU and BackEnd core of the platform. Look for new sources of data in the first Quarter of 2023 as well! STAY TUNED!
Thank you all for your interest in CYTK and please don’t hesitate to send your questions and comments to us at hello@cytk.io.
Looking Forward!
Kate Schneider, CTO at CYTK, Inc.
